Clash! Tiger and Hawk!! (激突(げきとつ)(とら)(たか)!!, Gekitotsu! Tora to Taka!!) is the 101st episode of the Inazuma Eleven anime.

Summary[]

While taking a break from practice, Inazuma Japan receives letters from their friends and families from Japan. Everyone is happy, except for Toramaru. For some reason, he's been acting strangely after he received his letter, and lose focus in practice. He even lashes out at everyone during dinner. Endou decides to go talk to him, but to everyone's surprise, Tobitaka wants to go instead. How will he solve this problem? And why was Toramaru so agitated?

Plot[]

After practicing, the Inazuma Japan members receive letters from their friends and family from their hometown. They receive postcards from former members Kurimatsu and Midorikawa, and an impeccably long letter from Saginuma, to much of the team's surprise. Tobitaka receives a note and photo of his friends encouraging him. However, Toramaru receives a letter but as he reads it, he pales in concern. As a result, during practice, Toramaru is unable to concentrate on his soccer-playing and even fails to complete Tiger Storm with Gouenji.

At dinner, Tsunami and a few other team members talk about their plans and ask Toramaru to join them, but he reacts in an irritable way and suddenly excuses himself from the dinner table. When Endou starts to talk to him about his problem, Tobitaka stops him and tells Endou that he will handle this dilemma.

Tobitaka meets Toramaru outside, kicking sand angrily on the beach. The former tells Toramaru not to take his anger out on uninvolved people, and that his angry demeanor reminds him of his younger self, starting fights constantly. In response to his behavior, Tobitaka challenges Toramaru to a dribbling contest: they will dribble across three times, and if Tobitaka is able to steal the ball from him even once, then Toramaru will have to apologize. Tobitaka fails to steal the ball the first two times; Toramaru taunts him, saying that he would never lose to someone who had just started soccer. But on the last time, Tobitaka successfully steals the ball, shocking Toramaru.

To cool the tension, Tobitaka cooks a dish called "Rairaidon" for him as a treat. He tells Toramaru that he learned to cook this dish from Coach Hibiki; Hibiki would watch him practice, and would afterwards prepare this meal out of restaurant leftovers. Toramaru gives him the postcard that his mother sent and admits that he was worried about his mother's well-being and feels guilty of being away from her. The two boys kick a soccer ball back and forth as Tobitaka tells him that he knew that something was wrong with Toramaru from his experience with hanging out with younger friends. Toramaru also cheekily tells him that his cooking is not perfect and that there was too much soy sauce and oil, to which Tobitaka responds with a smile.

The next day, Toramaru apologizes to the team before practice, expecting his teammates to scold him. However, Tsunami and Hijikata are very nice about the situation and are happy to hear that he is better emotionally. During practice, he learns a new hissatsu called RC Shoot, based on the toy car that his mother had bought him, when his shoot path was blocked and he needed a creative way to score a goal. For lunch, the managers reveal that Nonomi-san is in town and has brought with her special bentos from Toramaru's mother. The team happily eats their delicious lunch as Toramaru enjoys his lunch from home.
