Along with the rest of the The Empire, they fought against Inazuma Japan and won, being the only team to have beaten Inazuma Japan in the FFI with a score of 2-1.

- Diego is modeled after real-life Argentine footballer Diego Armando Maradona, more specifically his appearance during the 1986 FIFA World Cup.
- One of Maradona's nicknames is "El pibe de oro" (The golden child) which may explain this character's surname.
- He is very short because Maradona is also short.
